TCPServer vs. TCPServer1

Post by Steffenadensis » Tue Jul 29, 2014 6:08 pm

I dont know why there is a TcpServer1 and a TcpServer, but the TcpServer until know do not work at all.
Wireshark tells me that the TcpServer Ack the Pakages and so on, but in the GUI of Odysseus there is noting Displayed, and there are no Exceptions or anything shown in the console.

I just searched the GUI, Show -> Transport Handlers, and tried TCPServer1 and it worked.

Why there are two TCPServers and the undocumented is working?
Kind regards

Hi,
TCPServer (or TCPServer2) is based on the Netty framework and TCPServer1 is an implementation based only on the Java NIO. As far as I remember, the TCPServer1 made some problems on Windows machines. However, you are right, both should be documented (or we should trace down the problem and fix it).

The other is working, too. TCPServer1 has problems under windows. Could you please tell, what os you use?

Exceptions are now printed to the console.

Maybe, the problem is now fixed anyway? See viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4
