Possible to start and stop query with script?

Post by kauerbach » Mon Oct 06, 2014 6:59 pm

Hello,

Is it possible to start, pause, and stop queries with another script? I have a script to send streaming data to a mysql database and wondered if it were possible to write a script in Odysseus Studio to start, stop, or pause another script. Suppose, for example, that I want to send 10 seconds worth of data to a mysql table then stop or pause the script for 10 seconds to do some analysis on the table data, then start the script again to collect more data, etc..?

Thank you.
Regards,
Ken Auerbach.

This is currently not possible (and will never). It is only possible to create a command that pauses, starts or stops a query.

I can imagine somethink like

Code: Select all

#QNAME Query1
#RUNQUERY
...
#SLEEP 10000
#PAUSE Query1
... Do Something else
#START Query1
Is this what you mean?

Yes. That is exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you very much!
