Sink is shown as Source

Post by Martin Schmid » Mon Aug 18, 2014 9:57 am

Dear Odysseus Team,

I'm encountering a bug in Odysseus Studio:

My Sink is shown under the 'Source' tab.

Code: Select all

#PARSER PQL
#RUNQUERY
    TCPSTREAMintoDBS := DATABASESINK({Tableschema=['TIMESTAMP', 'INTEGER', 'VARCHAR(128)', 'VARCHAR(128)', 'VARCHAR(128)', 'VARCHAR(128)', 'VARCHAR(128)'],
            connection='con1',
            table='odysseus', drop='true'},System.nexmark:person)
This is my output script, but it is shown under Sources and not under Sinks.

Hi,

thanks for your post!

This is a common misunderstanding :-) When you use ":=" or "::=" in PQL there is always created a view (==source) (although it does not really makes sense in this scenario). So its better to use "=" here.

The database sink, as currently implemented, is not the same as other sinks, so it will not appear in the list of sinks, maybe we will change that in the future.

Dear Mr. Grawunder,

thank you for clarifying. I did read up on intermediate results, views and sources, so with your explanation this actually makes sense now.

Thanks alot,

M.Schmid
